New Glamping Around Acadia National Park

Glamorous camping? A Girl Scout’s dream! With Terramor and Under Canvas, you can now enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors from the comfort of luxury campgrounds.

Anyone can simply pitch a tent and enjoy nature, but not everyone can say that they have been “roughing it” right in the heart of some of America’s most beautiful national parks.

I spoke with a representative from Under Canvas, and they spoke very highly about their locations. “On a mission to inspire connections with extraordinary places, people and the planet by enhancing access to the outdoors, Under Canvas believes in the regenerative power of being outside together.”

Recently, Under Canvas Acadia has made its mark on the map with the construction of 63 new safari-style canvas tents, which are ready and booking fast.

However, the Under Canvas Acadia is actually not located inside the park, as these three other campgrounds are.

The three other campgrounds are called Bar Harbor Campground, Hadley’s Point Campground, and Oceanside KOA Holiday.

Acadia National Park is an ideal location for glamping, as it is right along the beautiful Maine coastline and along 100 acres of waterfront land.

Another added bonus for all hiking enthusiasts – the campgrounds are just 35 minutes from the famous Cadillac Mountain Trail right in Acadia National Park.

While Acadia is Under Canvas’s newest location, the other sites to be explored include the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Lake Powell, Moab, Glacier, Zion, the Great Smoky Mountains, and Mount Rushmore.

And for some exciting news, Under Canvas is also constructing a new campsite in Yosemite in the future.

Glamping is Pretty In-Tents! (Ha!)

Luxury and style are at the forefront of Under Canvas’s mission. With comfort in mind, the campsite has different unique accommodations to choose from.

There are seven different tent-style options, all with enough space to spread out and relax, including a private bathroom.

The different tent options include the classic Suite, Cadillac Mountain Suite, Stargazer, Deluxe, Suite with Kids Tent, Stargazer with Kids Tent, and Deluxe with Kids Tent.

All of these options also have different key features unique to the room style and fit for anyone.

The best key features are offered in the Cadillac Mountain Suite and the Stargazing suite.

These luxury rooms are complete with their own personal private deck, in addition to lounge chairs that come in handy when looking out at the sunrise or sunset.

These rooms also include a private fire pit which is perfect for unwinding with an ice-cold beer after a long day of hiking.

And lastly, the best feature of all, the sky window above the bed for counting shooting stars or catching glimpses of the Milkyway Galaxy.

For groups or events on the campsite, there are two options that you can choose from. Either full camp buyouts or groups under 30 people. These options are in place in order to preserve the peacefulness of nature and of the campsite.

They are also ideal for weddings because of the surrounding beauty and scenery – which makes for excellent pictures!

Under Canvas also hosts several different kinds of pop-up events and glamping experiences throughout the year. These pop-up experiences are customizable to the wants and needs of the host.

Some of the services that Under Canvas can provide at these pop-ups are a beauty bar, a beverage bar and lounge, in-tent wood stoves, and large meal spaces.

The luxury-style tents that Under Canvas provides for these special events are called the CanopyMarqui.

These teepee-style tents are perfect for having gatherings because they provide shade and style for any event.

These CanopyMarqui can be combined together to form larger gathering spaces, all while accommodating hundreds of guests. They do not take away from the natural scenery, either.

Loads of hikers flock to Acadia National Park to experience the trails, nature, wildlife, and incredible views that it has to offer. One such hiker loved her Acadia experience and cannot wait to go back.

Christina DeBartolomeo, a hiking enthusiast, recounts her experience staying in Acadia National Park. “We went camping and stayed in the park. We stayed for a few nights and hiked Cadillac Mountain and Champlain Mountain which were really fun. It felt like it was almost a 360-degree view and it was absolutely incredible. One morning, we drove to watch the sunrise, which is famous in Acadia for being the first sunrise that appears in the United States.”

Even after a few days of exhaustion and grueling exercise hiking up the mountains, DeBartolomeo would still do it all again. “I really liked my Acadia National Park trip and I would recommend it to anyone! I would definitely go again because the weather is perfect and it is so close to Bar Harbor.”
