An artist in Quebec City. From Quebec City: World Music, Fine Art, Fois Gras and Frog Legs by Sony Stark. Sony sent us this photo with her second story, and it knocked our socks off. We love the color and the creativity.

A horsecart near Cajobado, Cuba. From Bicycling Cuba: Bluebird Skies and Welcoming Homestays by Matthew Kadey. For years Matthew Kadey has been sending us fantastic photos that really capture the spirit of a destination. So much about this photo just says ‘Cuba.’

Poster on the wall in Urbino. From A Return to Le Marche: Palaces, Painters and Pilgrims by Kent St. John. Kent St. John’s knack for shooting consistently brilliant photos makes it hard to choose a single example. The textures and the detail made this one our top choice.

Iranian Beauty. From Visiting Iran: Ancient Cities and Natural Wonders by Max Hartshorne. In 2008 GoNOMAD Editor Max Hartshorne joined a historic delegation of journalists and tour operators when the Islamic Republic issued their first diplomatic visas to Americans in 30 years. He returned with great photos like this one.

Donnie Sexton captured the essence of this place called The Palouse, in the northwest of the US and it made us all want to go see it for ourselves.

Rich Grant caught this shot in marvelous Petra, part of his collection of a story about cities surrounded by walls, published on GoNOMAD in 2021.
