By Jackie Cohen

As the number one most visited nation in the world, France‘s tourism scene is always changing, updating classic sites and adding new ones to their repertoire.
Travel through the not-before-flown air routes to France from around the world, and then check out some of the latest hotspots, including the Calvados Experience in Normandy, Toulouse’s European City of Science, a new sealife center in Boulogne Sur la Mer, and the latest themed stays for leisure groups in Cannes.
Improved access to French cities
New transport routes with direct service throughout France are popping up with airlines from around the world.
French airline Air Corsica has expanded the island’s summer season aiming to reach a wider network of tourists from Britain, introducing flights from London to Ajaccio, Bastia, and Figari, multiple times per week.
British Airways has also added new routes with direct service from London Heathrow, Manchester, and London City to Grenoble, Turin, Chambery, and Paris.
The Calvados Experience
Opening their doors in March 2018, just a few miles from France’s Flowered Coast, The Calvados Experience is centered in the heart of little Pont-l’Evêque.
Covering over 3,000 square meters, the exhibition dives deep into the history of Calvados, an apple brandy from the Normandy region in the country. The experience highlights the traditional Norman spirit, the full sensory experience is an hour-long adventure for the entire family

All five senses are triggered throughout the exhibition.
The immersive tour begins with stories and typical pre-war Norman villages.
The tour continues through an apple press and fermentation room, presenting the process to travelers through the arts of distillation, aging, and blending.
The visit ends with a taste of the spirit itself at their bar, with expert guidance on the proper way to consume: through the eye, nose, and palate.
Euroscience Open Forum comes to France in 2018
Each year, the Euroscience Open Forum hosts The Science in the City Festival.
In 2018, the festival will take place in the French city of Toulouse. Tourists of all ages with an interest in science will enjoy the fair, with its interactive shows and exhibitions.
The festival is also a networking event for the scientific community, connecting researchers, delegates, and the public through engagement and interaction between parties. The festival takes place July 9 to 14, 2018 in Toulouse.

A new taste of Paris
A newly curated, fully immersive food tour has recently launched in the capital city.
Incorporating the Parisian region’s finest gastronomic and wine specialties, the former residence of the famous impressionist artist, The Maison Caillebotte, is opening for a special exhibition highlighting the life of the revered artist in Spring 2018.
The Palace of Versailles is launching a promotional program called “Versailles for Groups.”
This offering is available to large visiting groups with special tours with line-skipping privileges, and a private tour of the chateau by passionate, knowledgeable guides. It also includes a special luncheon at the conclusion of the tour at the famous Alain Ducasse restaurant.
Europe’s Largest Indoor Marine Life Complex
Enhancing your normal aquarium experience, Nausicaa, the National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France, is the largest European complex entirely devoted to the universe of marine life.
The exhibitions at Nausicaa entertain and educate visitors about scientific subjects and raising public awareness about sustainable responsibility towards sealife and oceanic health.

Visitors are captivated by the mindboggling number of specimens seen at the complex. The 5,000 square meter space is home to over 36,000 creatures from 1,000 species of sea life. 4.5 million liters of water are dispersed throughout the complex into 50 separate tanks and terrariums.
Discover the penguins, and learn about the risks of climate change and its effect on the worlds’ oceans and the life that lives inside of them.
Experience Cannes like a celebrity
Each year, the world’s rich and famous gather together along the French Riviera for the annual Cannes International Film Festival.
The festival is held on Boulevard de la Croisette, a picturesque winding road lined with white sands beaches, luxury boutique shops and hotels, and fancy restaurants and cafes.
Cannes’ walk of fame, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès building, is the pinnacle of fame and fortune during the annual soiree.
Now, the film-famous resort village has launched themed stays for leisure groups of ten to 50 visitors who are staying a minimum of two nights. With choices including ‘gourmet’, ‘cinema’, ‘escape’, or ‘culture’, visitors can enhance their visit to Cannes even further now through April 2018, and again in Spring 2019.
