Boingo Picture Contest Benefits Travel Photogs

How good is your travel photog eye?

Got a knack for photographing that perfect moment or taking snapshots everywhere you go? Then enter Boingo’s “Hotspots and Snapshots” digital photo contest. Your photo submission could land you a new Wi-Fi enabled Samsung digital camera.

To kick off its new Wi-Fi offering for Samsung digital cameras, Boingo — a global Wi-Fi leader — invites you to express your photo artistry and then rally all of your friends and family in an effort to score a spiffy new Wi-Fi enabled digital camera. Free stuff? In this economy? Woohoo!

There are four categories for photo entry, including one for Travel photos! The winner of each category will receive a Samsung ST5500/CL80 digital camera.

Between now and July 22, amateur photographers can submit up to two photos in total, and no more than one per category.

Once entries are uploaded to the Boingo blog, each photo can be voted on by the Internet glitterati (including contestants’ families and friends, hint hint). Once the popular vote ends on July 22, the top three photos in each category will be judged by a panel of professional photographers, who will choose a category winner.

“We’re looking for snapshots that best represent Boingo hotspots, technology, travel and happiness,” said Dawn Callahan, vice president of marketing for Boingo Wireless. “At the same time, participants have the creative latitude to submit photos that capture their unique take on the contest themes. To that end, we welcome the use of photo editing, whether through a program like Photoshop, a mobile app and/or the camera’s functions.”

Four winners will be awarded a Samsung ST5500/CL80 digital camera pre-loaded with three months of complimentary Boingo Wi-Fi. Even without the free Wi-Fi, the ST5500/CL80 is an awesome score. It’s got a compact point-and-shoot camera with tons of  features, including 14.2 megapixel image quality, HD video recording, a touch-screen keypad, and of course the worldwide Boingo Wi-Fi access.

The Boingo “Hotspots and Snapshots” photo contest is open to amateur photographers all over the globe. Complete contest details can be found hither.
