The First-Ever Guide to Mendocino County

Northern California’s top destination for wine, food, and nature, Mendocino County, has released an official Visitors Guide to promote and provide reference for anyone planning a trip to Mendocino County. The 84-page guide covers wine, food, nature, the coast, family fun, arts, festivals, tour maps, lodging and more. This Visitors Guide is the first-ever guide to share all the region has to offer. This marks the first time in the County’s 120 year history that al organizations have come together to create a single resource to share with potential visitors.

The Guide is practical and easy to use. It is divided into 16 key sections sharing highlights, contacts, resources, suggested activities, seasonal events, wines, outdoors, accommodations, arts, pets, and convenient maps to outline how to get there. The guide shares details for lodging and where and when to taste wines.

The Guide was compiled by Striker Media. Counties across the nation publish visitor’s guides; however, they are all produced from pre-existing resources, including photos, facts or previous guidebooks. Mendocino County did not have resources like this, thus, the team from Striker Media and Visit Mendocino County created this guide from the ground up.

The Guide was completed cost efficiently. The majority of the costs were covered by minimal Guide advertising. The formula both offsets costs, and effectively shares additional resources for travelers. Before this Guide, the Visit Mendocino Team used a simple brochure and existing maps and calendars to communicate to the County story. The official County website, GoMendo.com has proved to be an increasingly popular resource, and the site will soon host a digital version of this new Guide.
