I’ll call us an Uber…Boat!

Like most people, when I hear Uber, I think of the convenient mobile transportation app where one can order a car or even a van if there’s a bigger group of people.

However, Uber Boat by Thames Clipper now offers travelers another mode of transportation…Uber Boats!

London’s Leading River Bus Service

Uber Boat by Thames Clipper reopened on March 29th, offering Londoners a unique way to travel around the capital city.

The Uber Boat by Thames Clipper is connected to 23 different piers around the city, offering passengers plenty of options for stops.

GoNOMAD spoke with a spokesperson from Uber Boat by Thames Clipper.

Scrutton said that similar to Uber cars, one can order an Uber Boat over the app.

If you don’t have the Uber app, Scrutton also noted that passengers can purchase tickets through the Thames Clipper sales channel, mobile app, or even at piers across London.

With about 20 different vessels and over 400 employees, Uber Boat by Thames Clipper served over 4.3 million passengers a year, pre-covid.

Not Your Typical Public Transportation Experience

With excellent customer service, an onboard cafe, and gorgeous views of the city, it’s not surprising that the ferry service has won National Transport Awards Ferry Operator of the Year in 2016, 2017, and 2019.

In relation to Uber Boat by Thames Clipper’s award recognition, the spokesperson said, “Uber Boat by Thames Clippers ensures everyone a comfortable and stress-free experience.”

“From guaranteed seats for our passengers to the licensed onboard cafe, commuters can enjoy a coffee or a bite to eat before work instead of a hectic travel experience that is commonly associated with public transport.”

When you think of public transportation or morning commutes, you probably don’t think of a relaxing ferry ride with gorgeous views of the scenery—but, if you’re taking an Uber Boat to work, that’s the reality!

Grab a Bite to Eat on Your Uber Boat

Another aspect of the Uber Boat by Thames Clipper experience that makes it so enjoyable, is the onboard cafe.

With options ranging from sandwiches to cakes, you’re sure to find something tasty to eat!

There are even vegan-friendly options available for those interested. The cafe is also willing to cater to any additional dietary requirements you may have.

Hot tea, hot chocolate, and coffee options are also available to choose from.

Adults are invited to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while kids are able to choose from a variety of soft drinks that are available.

Due to covid restrictions, food and drinks can be ordered as takeaway and enjoyed outside on the back deck while looking over the stunning scenery of London.
