Desi Food Truck and owner Al Elahi recently announced the unveiling and grand opening event dates for NYC’s first ever original style Indian Cuisine mobile food truck.
If you’ve ever tramped through the streets of New York City, you might be familiar with street vendors and curbside cuisine. But you may have never experienced something quite like the Flatiron District Desi Food Truck, NYC’s first ever original style Indian Cuisine dining mobile. Complete with 100% handcrafted metal fringing, a free WiFi connection, and even a television showcasing snippets of select Indian music, the truck provides sensory appeal for all customers who happen across this much anticipated little treasure. Perfectly affordable prices, charming culturally driven atmosphere and most importantly the mouth watering menu sets this culinary experience on a whole new level of urban Halal food carts. It’s easy to see how this bright new addition has quickly grown into a hotspot for the wholesale market with its surrounding Indian subcontinent community and bumping nightlife. Not to mention the attention garnered from the local office and university crowd.
“I wanted to introduce something different, something that’s never been done before within the vendor community of NYC”, proclaims Owner Al Elahi “Life in NYC is defined and fused together by great entertainment, good friends and amazing food. Our goal is to create a lasting memory through incredible taste, our originality, affordable prices and convenience to the NYC population.”
Current dishes from the menu include Kati rolls with a flaky buttery crust that might just bowl you over. They choices range from chicken to vegetarian. There are a number of different meals to tickle the palate such as the Chicken Tikka Masala, chicken with curry over rice, Aloo Masala, Dal and rice, Paneer Masala and plenty more. The prices are made recession affordable and range anywhere between $4.00 and $8.00 depending upon the size of your snack.
