A Village Lady from Shringi in Himachal Pradesh

A Village Lady from Shringi in Himachal Pradesh

I clearly remember the group of ladies I met near Shringi Vatika in Himachal Pradesh. It was late in the day and they were three going back to their own village. In fact there is a picture of mine with the same lady and she gave me some of the twigs to hold. I also remember she asked why did not I use any lipstick! I had no answer to that!

Lipstick? That's an interesting question. I love this picture. I've always been fascinated by Kashmir areas.

Hi, when I saw the pic in reader, the first thing that struck my mind was the lipstick. I never see any woman wearing lipstick in HP...

The pics are marvelous....

Can expect such questions from villagers.. In fact when my mom last went to Tezpur, Assam 5 years back she was shocked to see the indiscriminate use of deos and other stuff by the people of my generation there.

I too think it is unusual to see the villagers wearing lipstick in such areas.

I checked out your pictures at Picasa, thanks for sharing. Good to catch up on your blog Mridula.
