How Many Copies of My Prashar Lake Images?
Yesterday I did a google image search for Prashar Lake on a whim. And I am completely aghast. The number of times my pictures have been copied by others across the globe without any credit is depressing. So here I go. These are most of my Prashar Lake images (with the December images posted with permission from Anil).
Now look at the copycats, why so many? :( :( :( :( :(

(And don't worry all the links are nofollow.)
Indie-Reise in German, why in Germany would someone copy my Prashar Lake image?
Someone at a site called Wherein City copied my Prashar Lake image
Someone by the Name of Sachin at Merinews copied the Prashar Lake image
Another one by Sachin at Merinews He has copied so many of my images apart from the Prashar lake one. I have left a comment on each of the copied one.
Instablog copied my Prashar Lake Image
Another Copy
Would you blame me if I am hopping mad right now?

thanks 4 yr kind words yar..u r the only person who noticed what i mentioned in the last line..that i am back on track..only i had been overwhelmed by boredom..i was telling my colleague that virtual friends are more loving than the real friends..feels good..thanks once again and all the best in your life yaar..take care..
They should at least have given some credit.
Sometimes many images captured from various sources come thru e mails. In that case sometimes even user does not know the real source of the pic. You can point out these fellows that this is under your copyright.Either withdraw or give credit.
Wow...it always amazes me when I read your post on people using stealing from blogs! So, it happened yet again to you!
oh come on, be happy that someone see your pics on someone else blog, open your heart a little, this world is beautiful, people do make mistakes, be bill gates, check you are running a original Vista, original anti-virus, or original Microsoft office ( it costs around $279.95 to $449.95) have a heart , next time link to microsoft's website while writing draft post in Word ( if you do) :-). People are not as good as you are at clicking beautiful images, let them share your work. we are one world.
dont blame you...... i would be wild too........ has anything come out of the comments you left????
On the other side, you can see what a beautiful shot you have taken. The people reproducing might not even claim that it is their own, they might say "taken from net".
This is the most common case of copyright violations. With the advent of IT its implementation has met new dimensions.
If you feel your right has being denied, just notify the websites hosting your photographs without giving you any credit. Point it out that you are the author of this photo and have uploaded it in such and such date. You will always have the legal remedy as you must be having the RAW file of this image. Even then since you have published it first, you have your Moral Rights over it.
Mridula, i think you had started watermarking them. why do not you watermark all of them (even older ones).
i think all cameras should have a feature (mandatory) that allows all photos to be automatically marked to be owned by camera owner. and then none of photo editing software should allow to edit/delete owner detail of phone.
this way your name will always be there in user details of photo and you can sue (threaten to sue) pirates if not given credit.
why didn't you watermark it with your name?
Of course you are mad! You have every reason to be!! But, just out of curiosity, how did you find these websites? Did you just google for "Prashar Lake" and find these images?
I agree with Srinidhi. You should put a copyright on your images.
To other commenters,
It is a compliment when somebody steals your work, but it certainly does not condone their act. They should have the balls to ask before publishing or at least the integrity to let the author know.
Horrible people! That too you take such nice pics.. no sense of responsiblity also to atleast give credit to you
That's the Net for you. People can take what they want and think its fine to do so. It's bad, but even worse when they don't even credit the work to you.
Wow - that's ridiculous!! Add a watermark to your photos before you put them online. They can still edit them, but it will be more work.
Ramesh you are most welcome.
Manish, I left comments where I could but I was not willing to register to the sites that required so to leave a comment.
Sujata, :(
Shanker, let me say that I disagree with you and leave it there.
Anu, nothing up to now :(
Tarun, I tried but with bouncing mails and such I have given up for the time being.
Nilesh I did not used a watermark for quiet sometime.
Shrinidhi I have to think seriously about watermarking the earlier pictures.
Vamsee, thank you so much.
Doli, what to do!
Colin, I have to read your book over the weekend. Many thanks for sharing.
Bindu I think I have to do so for the earlier pictures. Thank you for suggesting it along with Nilesh and Shrinidhi.
