Mall Ratting!
We went to one of the numerous Gurgaon Malls to watch Slumdog Millionaire (quite a watchable movie), so what else can I share but Mall pictures! These are taken with my camera phones. This is one of the less crowded Gurgaon Malls on the weekdays hence I could easily click pictures without people in it!
Lines and Shpes, Gurgaon Mall While I was growing up, malls were not at all a significant phenomenon in India. The first time I saw a mall of any significant size was in 1999 when I went to Singapore. And I have to admit I rarely go to a mall and do not really like visiting them. And in Gurgaon, some of them get jam packed on a weekend. We try to avoid them like anything.
Lines on the Ground- Gurgaon MallWhen my two young nephews started living with us I was a little worried if they would become mall rats, after all they were in their teens and that is where they might have decided to hang out. I am very happy to report that they spend more time on Football and Basketball fields rather than at any mall!
So why am I talking about it here? Well, what else do I talk about if all I can manage is a visit to the mall? I know there is another alternative but let some of you suggest it :D

How did you manage to find the mall so empty? Btw....were there no notices that photography is prohibited? :o)
Well the other alternative I can think of is that you go and buy another round of samosas. Maybe this time you will find that the dogs are better behaved.
Howcome the malls are so empty? I hate going to Bangalore Malls for there is no space to place legs.:-)
That's a fancy mall - incredible that there are no people in it. I like the parallel lines in the first picture. I hate malls too - go to one about once a year on average, max. They are guzzlers of energy, and unnecessary - just look at our colorful outdoor markets in India, and it's clear they are unnecessary!

Paradox, that is a nice suggestion, would try that tomorrow!
Ajeya, I understand, this one is a new mall in a residential area with very few shops operational as of now, only the movie theater is there.
Bindu, I agree they consume a lot of energy. My opinion is that malls that draw a lot of footfalls in Gurgaon are those that have multiplexes and eating joints!

I saw my first mall in 1992 - in Edmonton. Canadians are very fond of them. It's become the social meeting place. I don't like them at all. Once you saw them, you never have to go again. They look the same (with the same shops) all over the country.
