Lazy Sunday Photo- Sunny Spring Day

Park Bench on a Sunny Spring Day

I was interested in taking this picture because of the blue bird sitting in the right hand corner of the bench. Once again I am reminded of the fact that the zoom of my cameras is pretty poor. And I have yet to manage to buy a good zoom lens.

This picture was also taken at the Jamia Millia Islamia University campus.

Looks like a Kingfisher. How very obliging of him to pose on that bright orange-red bench, overlooking some orange-red marigolds!

Hobo, thanks.

Sunita that is true! Otherwise a few days back some black bees were giving me a lot of trouble and posing at all.

Thanks for the link Ahkila.

Final_Transit I will ask the bird the next time I meet.

Thanks Sandeep.

You are absolutely right Paradox, there is a woman in blue in the top left corner of the shot.

He was probably on the look out for some butterflies visiting the marigolds. It knocked me for a loop the first time I saw it . I always thought that Kingfishers live on a fish diet ... until I saw one hunting butterflies in my garden. (take a look : http://the-urban-gardener.blogspot.com/2008/12/tis-season-for-unexpected-gifts.html )
Maybe he was on a low-protein diet!
