A tin of covers the boxing arena. A majority of the kids here don’t have their own gloves. And to drink water after practice, the lone hand-pump has to be operated very slowly, otherwise sand particles will start coming out along with the water.And I hope the two other Kumars, Jitendra and Vijendra Kumar will win tomorrow.

Thanks for your postings about our Olympians...here we are only exposed to medal winners...it is heartening to hear these positive stories about Indian athletes..
Akira, this time around I have somehow caught the Olympic bug and travel tales have taken a back seat.
It's private effort that counts in Indian sport, while the government's hardly does, despite the huge amounts of public money spent.
