Langza, the Most Beautiful Place after Dhankar that I Saw in Spiti

Lagnza- Beautiful Town Village in Spiti

I found Langza to be the most beautiful village in Spiti after Dhankar. If you look at one side, there was Cho Cho Khang Nilda. And on the other this beautiful landscape. There were numerous butterflies on the flowers. What more can one ask for?

In a strange way , that reminds me of ...home , or at least a place a couple of hours away with a bus and a boat , near my old home town .

In the house you may barely see at the edge , there lived the family that had lived there since the 18th century . And no one else. Nearest neighbor ten or twenty kilometers away.Really liked the brothers , who were the last permanent dwellers. The son now lives in Kvikkjokk during the winters.

Vistet, that too is a lovely picture. This place you talk about, is it connected by road or something? I remember coming across a single house when we tried to trek through Markha Valley (had to turn back mid way as I had an upset stomach) which was in middle of nowhere and not even connected by road.

Nearest road (that connects to Gällivare , my old home town) is a 25 km trek and a boat crossing away) .
The something it´s connected to is Kungsleden ("the Kings Trail"), which is the most accessible part of the Swedish highlands , a 440 km long trail with huts at day trek distances. At the same time this place is the entrance to the Sarek National Park , which is the opposite n : the second biggest national park in Sweden , with no huts, marked trails etc. And half of the total mosquito population in Sweden along the central river :-)

Sorry for hijacking the blog with home pictures , guess it means it´s time to hit the trail soon..

Vistet, I would say thanks for sharing all those pictures. I often wonder what do the people at such places do if they need to reach a city in hurry, like for medical attention or something?

The Läntta family have lived there for more than three hundred years , and basically made it on their own. The last fifty years they´ve had a radio transmitter , because of the trekking , and been able to call in ambulance helicopters.
People walking the trail bring in the mail in the summer and spring winter (our family have done it a number of times) and sometimes something more : Villes wife Reet was a Estonian who walked by one summer , and stayed.

That is a very interesting story I must say. And I thought in Sweden if there is a real need one could be air lifted but no such thing for the Ladakhi family I am sure. Still, the place in Sweden seems to be so interesting.
