Daryaganj Sunday Book Market
One of the few pavements in Delhi where Maradona, Chambers Dictionary and Jigsaw Puzzle can be found on the same shelf. I still remember how annoyed my nephews were with me that I just brought this picture home rather than the Maradona book itself. And it was almost two years back that I went there! About time I headed that way once more.

Daryaganj is THE place for all types of books. Once in Delhi, any book lover would want to go there at least once.
But I am not able to do that. :(
There was a similar book street in Mumbai. That place was crazy! It was bigger than any of the bookstores i ever saw.
Unfortunately, in late 2005, the high court ordered to clear the pavements of these booksellers. I have a story here: Demise of book street
The book street has shifted somewhere else, secret location!!
I always wanted to write some thing about this market. This is the place from where I used to get all my stuff cos it was never affordable for me to buy new books, it is really a scene spotting so many teenagers and oldies (and of course some in between)squatting on the pavements and ...?..... the heaps.
