From Kye (Ki) Monastery, Kaza, Spiti

Both the landscapes were clicked near the Kye Monastery area. There are a few times when I feel so happy with my wide angled lens. I think I got even more fabulous views at least twice on this route but I did not request the taxi people to stop. That is why I love walking so much. You can stop where ever you please.

Isn't Spiti valley a wonder? I never imagined such wide, long and pretty plane suddenly appearing out of nowhere..

I agree Arun.

Maverick your last name is indeed after an incredibly beautiful place! You should go there once.

Thanks Madhukar.

Great pictures...looks a dream... are these affected by the landslides now ?

Backpakker, I don't think so, as Spiti is a rain shadow region and it does not rains much there. How I miss such views in my day to day life.

The first one clearly shows what the phenomenon of erosion can do to a landscape.

Also, the photos look almost like these were taken from an aircraft.

Nah, Sidhu, these were just taken from a higher vantage point. And I guess this is how a typical rainshadow region looks like!

These are simply breathtaking. And I guess literally so too ;-)
I would love to go there, but I know I can never manage it :-(

Why Sigma? Is it because of the leaves?
