My Prashar Lake Article at Gonomad

My Prashar Lake article is up at Gonomad now. There were two surprises for us on this trek. One, the four and a half hour trek was quite steep and I did it with some stretch. This had never happened before.
Two, the caretaker of the guest house was reluctant to give us a room as I do not 'look' married.
That too has never happened before!
So, what do you think of the article?

Nice write up. My husband is in India right now and I have been telling him he must visit Prashar lake after reading your post.
Excellent article Mridula, very precise and useful information of Prasar lake. It can be used as a reference. Very Good Work. Keep Writing. BTW, all the picture of the lake are fascinating.
“I do not 'look' married” – LOL
Well! Truth be told - u guys DONT look married! :)(Umm... let me clarify - look too young a couple - :))But nowadays frankly one can hardly make out. Very exciting the trip seemed - specially considering the heat of Delhi
Pooja, the two of you should go together.
Pijush, thanks for your kind words.
Smita, it definitely was a fun trip!
Lucky couple. HAHAHAHAha.
I have been reading all your posts thru reader but couldn't come here to comment, lack of time being my reason.
Prashar lake is in my list since the day I first saw it on your blog.
So, are you happy being called singleton again ? :)
Karnail, thank you, yes it feels like that! That we are a lucky couple :)
Cuckoo, it was not being called single, it was about being called shady :) No, and I didn't like it.
Perhaps you should carry your marriage certificate along! :-P
Wonderful article! And great info ![including "looking married" part ;-)]
Just what is a married woman supposed to look like, I want to know.
That's a wonderful photo.
Sigma, wonderful advice, will have to dig that certificate out from some dark corner -)
Teri, a married north Indian Hindu women is supposed to look like
this with the emphasis on the red line near the hair. The dot also used to be a symbol of marriage but these days everyone uses it. But that red mark near the hair is still used by married women only. I am glad you liked the picture.
The write up isw nice as usual.
pics too are good.
We r Going to Pauri Garhwal in June..any tips??
-vandy
Vandy, thanks for stopping by. But I have not been to Pauri Garhwal till date.
I think that's a complement - you don't "look" married :-)
Any tips for my upcoming trip to Leh? Not biking - traveling by road by bus etc. :(
Ishwar
this may be of some help in planning a road trip to Leh. About not looking married, as long as they give us a room to live I am OK either way!
Great Pics and a nice read as always. Thx for sharing.
And I am glad, you didn't end up in baggi, listening to me :). I had a small doubt at the back of my head, how come the trek starts at Baggi, when the lake is quite far off by road, but then i was so happy seeing that you would goto Baggi, i somehow reconciled that in mountains, you never know, it must be the 'other' slope of the same mountain.
Now that you plan to go to Spiti. I have again gone into the wait mode for the trip log already :).
Happy treking and visitng for as long as you wish.
Rajeev, first of all I am so sorry for not replying to that mail. So, damn stupid of me, not intended at all but just happens somehow. I really loved the lake and people were quick to point out about Baggi and Bagi so not an issue at all.
And I am going a lot of places you have already been. This December we may head to Diu if I can be steady in my refusal to go to the hills yet again!
