Three Magnificient Himachali Dishes

Nettle (Kungis) Soup, can you believe that this is made out of Nettle plant (Bichoo Jari)? Steve, I asked them about the antidote but they said the plant is not growing as of now.

Sweet Rajma (Kidney Beans) with lots of Ghee

And Sidhu, made of wheat flour with a very tasty filling (don't ask me what, looks like chutney but tastes much better), this is a baked dish and has to be tried if you are in the region.

Hmmm I just had my dinner and you are making me fall for it again.

All the three look so delicious. Isn't the third one looks like gujhiya ?

Thoughts of clicking pics of meals (especially if its sweetdish) never occurred to me :)

Gujgiya is looking Gujhiya (third one) nice.

Cuckoo, the third one looks like Gujhia but this one has salt but tastes heavenly.

They are yummy Rezwan, by the way off topic but congrats on the super performance of your cricket team :)

Maverick, to deal with the ghee we used to walk 5km to the next village to have tea and then walk 5km back. What do you say to that?

Madhukar, I was there for the second time and I exercised extreme patience when I clicked the picture but I knew it is easier to talk about them when you have pictures. And the third one is not Gujhia, this is Sidhu and is salty.

Priyank, I do not know the idli look alike but the other one is sliced Sidhu?

Skye, try it this time, it tastes well, but it is considered a winter soup. Also make sure the leaves have been washed well, or they have some amount of soil remains.

Sweet Rajma is a novelty!

So, the last one is a salted Gujhiya...but why is it named after my family-name? Are you sure about the name?

:D

Sidhu, I am very sure of it! Go there sometime and taste it, it is really good and have a peek in the menu too, and get convinced about the name :D
