Wish I Could Travel More!

There are days when I unnecessarily fret and fume and will not let myself have any rest. A direct result of too much work (unfinished) and too little travel. Longing for December and some travel (plans are to visit Sikkim, I hope it will work out). Till then, I will have to look more frequently at my photographs from the various trips and girn and bear it.

Mridula,

Really glad to knwo that you plan to goto Lahaul and Spiti. and Sikkim too, wow. Hats off to you for planning a trip in dec in sikkim ! I remember u had been to Bharmour in winters before.
For myself, i remember a trek to Nag Tibba in Gharwal in nov, we abandoned it midway because of cold ;).

Good to know you still play evryday . I never managed to get into even my hostel team at Delhi. But i always was an enthusiastic spectator.

I read your title and thought, "Me too!" I don't think there's such a thing as traveling too much.

Whenever I can't concentrate on work I like to take a little break and look at photos from past trips. It's like visiting those places all over again.

Looking at your pictures and reading your stories is almost a good as being there myself!

Mridula,
Wow! A trip to Sikkim in winters?? Hats off to you dear.

But I guess that place would be equally beautiful and equally different in summers as well. Chalo, first you visit there, then I'll also plan (taking a few tips from you). ;)

All the best.

Rajeev, after every trip to the mountains in December I sware next time it would be to a sea beach but one year is a long time and I forget how cold it gets :) And I was at kanpur and we won the GC twice for the women's category.

Vijay, thanks a lot for stopping by. I guess if you start traveling it becomes difficult to stop after a while!

Ganga, I am drowned in work this semester, and I am barely able to post or keep up with comments at my own blog! It is so nice to see you hear again.

Lily, I can see you are busy because the number of posts on your blog has gone down! It is same here with me but in a month or two, things will improve at my end :)

Cuckoo, as I was saying to Rajeev, I actually forget how cold it can get in the mountains in December in a year. But however hard we plan not to visit the mountains in December, we don't know how we end you planning another trip!

You know what Deepak, there are some chances that I might get paid to travel in January! But unless things are finalized, not a word more :)

This winter, i would be more than happy if I am able to spend a day or two at Shimla and around..!!!

Have you been to Karnataka... places like Coorg and all - they are really awesome!!
went on a trekking trip on a under construction railway track thru the jungle and once to Tadyanemol - the highest peak of coorg .. Ultimatttte experiences!!

Sid, though Sesha, my husband has his family in Bangalore, we have hardly explored Karnataka :(

And due to some strange logic we always end up going to the Indian Himalayas one more time :) however hard I try to diversify, Sesha doesn't even pretend that he wants any other kind of a holiday. I know it sounds crazy but that is how it has been.

I know how that feels...wanting to explore new places and meet people from a different milieu...specially when you know even if you travel to a new place every month, there will still be so many unchartered places to visit!

So do I, so do I :-)
But you travel to so many wonderful places. I feel I can never summon up that energy level. Sigh.
And visiting Sikkim in December. Wow! Its going to be COLD, I bet :-) We went to Tsang-Ho lake in May, it was raining, and despite wearing a jacket, I was shivering! But it is really really beautiful. And we were told that the weather is clearest in Nov-Jan. So I hope you will get great views of the Kanchunjunga, and post the pics for our benefit :-) We could not even catch a glimpse when we went there, because of the dense clouds thoughout our visit. And frozen Tsang-Ho lake would make a splendid sight too!

Have you been to Rajasthan? In particular Osianji? A place worth a visit.
Good luck for December trip.

Those flowers make for a very pretty sight. I can only imagine what the real view must be like.

Hi Mridula,

Well from all your travel trips its mostly the Himalayas for you, or atleast for your husband. So when next to Ladakh again? Do let me know.

Hi Rigzin,

And do I have any choice but to go to Himalayas with him?

I am not sure when next to Ladakh. In 2007 we are planning to go to lahul and Spiti in June. Nothing planned beyond that :)
