Floods in the Ladakh Region?
During the intervening night of July 31 and August 1, torrential rains and cloud burst in Leh, Saboo, Phyang, Igoo and Shara in Leh district and different pockets of block Sankoo in Kargil district caused floods.
Massive damage was caused to standing crops, plantations, roads, bridges and some houses in the flood-hit areas, Sharma said adding government has taken all necessary steps to combat the damages caused due to the floods.
Surprisingly the entire article does not mention anything about the tourists in Leh.

Me and some of my friends have planned to go there during August end. Do you think the situation there is in control ? Is it a good time to go ? Please mail me at namrata_rane@hotmail.com

hi Mridula and the other bloggers,
My hubby and i are also quite adamantly planning a trip to Leh this Sept. As per many advises we have to conclude the trip before 15th Oct., and hence we are amidst lot of shopping and qute happy abt meeting the nature face-t-o-face. But however, our plans won't be thwarted by seeing news of the flooded villages. Anyone going there during this time, please get in touch with us.
