Words that Have Appeal: From Greenpeace Website

I do like writing about other things, and not just travel. But as of now, I want to maintain only one blog. So here it goes.

I was reading the Greenpeace website and found a few words on it extremely jolting.

Consuming ever more things is an unsatisfying and harmful way to try to be happy and fulfilled. Human happiness is not related to what people buy, but to who we are and how we relate to each other.

From Greenpeace website (paragraph 5 of the article).

Drowned in advertisements, this sounds like a sane piece of advise.

What is SADI ?

The SADI Trust was formed in February 2004 in Bangalore, India in order to advocate the benefits of De-materialisation. The Trust was formed as a result of our concern to the ill-effects of increasing consumption patterns, and its corresponding impact on nature’s flow of resources.

This is a GREAT piece of advice! So many people get their "happiness" from buying things, or sitting in front of video games, alone.

True happiness comes from the friends and family we love! :)

Thanks for posting that. And for visiting my blog! I like you're avatar picture, too! Very cute, and it makes me think you are followiing greenpeace's advice very well! You two look really cute and happy in that picture.

:)

Thanks a lot for tis lovely comment. Cute part I don't know, but yes we have been mostly happy, much more than the gloomy moments that sometimes came by.

I am also a teacher, I work in a Management institute. Mainstream management drives me nuts, so I hunt with vigor for altervative theories and hence I come across such quotes.
