Awful Offal

Why do people eat animal's cheeks, tongues, feet, and internal organs? I know hotdogs have a lot of this junk in them, but to pay for a gourmet meal made up of leftover animal parts is not only offensive, but just plain unappetizing to me. I think I'm a vegetarian in carnivorous clothing.
