On the Trail of the Gauchos in Argentina's Pampa
In 1866, an English rancher by the name of Wilfred Latham wrote: “ I cannot conceive of anything more exhilarating than a gallop across the plains.... a cloudless sky of deep azure, an atmosphere marvelously light and pure communicating a sense of indescribable buoyancy and pleasurable existence – a soft breeze flowing, as it were, over the vast plain, boundless as an ocean – contribute to engender an irresistible feeling of joy.” Continue story...

Vanuatu's Original Bungee Jumpers
It’s almost inevitable that travelers to the South Pacific in search of indigenous custom ceremonies will become jaded. After one too many “authentic island nights” that are nothing more than poolside barbeques with plastic leis, it’s easy to think that the colorful and vibrant cultures of the islands have been completely wiped out by the steady advance of the all inclusive resort. Tips for Traveling Abroad
with a Toddler
Embarking on a trip abroad with a toddler in tow would usually be classified in the minds of most mothers as mission impossible. However, it need not be so daunting. My toddler and I recently returned from three months of travel abroad, visiting countries like Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Egypt. Our journey consisted of travel on 10 different airplanes, about 50 total hours in the air, and travel on two camels, a donkey and a horse. It actually can be done and be quite enjoyable, depending on your level of pre-planning. Here are some tips to get you ready for your adventure. Continue story

Getting Around Alaska -- Transports Guide
Alaska, which shares a border with Canada, is isolated from the continental US. Its Aleutian Islands are closer to Siberia than to the hustle and bustle of New York or Chicago.
But you don't need a passport to go to Alaska, thanks to a deal made between the Russians and Secretary of State Seward back in 1867. Getting to Alaska is easy as there's only three possible routes: fly, go up the Alcan (Alaska-Canada Highway), or sail the Inside Passage Continue story
Hang Gliding in the Outer Banks:
Soaring Over Alligators and snakes
Nine hundred miles of windswept water surround the chain of barrier islands that forms the largest estuary system on the planet. Out of the wild sea and seemingly barren sand, nature has managed to conjure up rare life-forms that appear to belong to another epoch. Stilt-legged birds high-step through
the marshes. Carnivorous plants lie in wait for enormous glittering insects. Battalions of giant armored lizards bask in the sun along pitch-black rivers. Continue story
Blown Away in Cappadocia
Cappadocia is a spectacular area in central Turkey, dotted with fantasy pyramids, pitted with troglodyte dwellings and heir to centuries of human wrangling over territory, trade and souls. In ancient Persian it was called Katpatuka, or ‘Land of the Beautiful Horses’ but you do not have to be a geologist or history buff to be blown away by the landscape. A week’s hiking followed by a hot air balloon trip will do it for anyone. Continue story...
Mexico: So Much More than Cancun!
Next time you’re with a few people who don’t travel very much, ask them to name a city in Mexico. Odds are most, if not all of them will spit out Cancun before anything else. But there is far more to the Yucatan Peninsula than this hedonistic, shrink-wrapped magnet for package tourists. First of all tourism in Mexico is big business.Mexico is the seventh-largest tourist destination in the world. Continue story
Merida, Venezuela: A Treasure In The Andes
Nestled in a valley in the Andean range of Venezuela lies a medium-sized city named Merida, with slightly over a half million inhabitants. Known as the city of gentlemen, the city boasts many attractions and is the second largest tourist destination in Venezuela, after Margarita Island.
The first thing that a visitor will note are the lush green mountains. A short bus ride to the small town of Tabay and a visitor can enjoy the national park Mucuy where they can camp for a night, bathe in the cold waters of the river and even take a drink directly with out fear of getting sick.
