WANNA GO?
Multiple airlines fly to Lisbon and Porto.
Car rental is optimal for seeing the region.
Lazarim is east of Porto, just south of the Douro River.
Lamego is an administrative center and pilgrimage destination, site of the magnificent Santuario de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios as well as other churches, museums, and restaurants.
I stayed at the centrally-located Albergaria do Cerrado, a no-frills business hotel with a wonderful dog. There’s a helpful regional tourist office in town.
