Kent St. John has been GoNOMAD's Senior Travel Editor since the website was founded in 2000. During that time he has circled the globe many times, visiting more than 80 countries. Kent enjoys travel "with discrimination and an appreciation of subtleties," always finding a way to capture the nuances and essences of a destination, whether he's whale-watching in Nova Scotia, riding the rails in Australia, bungee jumping in China or worshipping the sun on a beach in Brazil.
Kent owned a tour company in Arizona for many years before returning to his roots in Cottekill, New York, where he lives with his wife Lisa, a high school English teacher and a published poet, and his son Chance, currently a student at Ulster Community College.
He was also a Contributing Editor for Transitions Abroad magazine and remains a correspondent for Around the World Radio, which broadcasts on ten stations in California and on thirty throughout Australia. He frequently writes for Travel International, MSNBC, PreviewMA magazine. as well as several other media outlets.
His narratives have appeared in several books such as Travelers’ Tales Ireland, Pilgrimage and The Best of Travelers’ Tales. His blog, Be Our Guest is about the Travel Press life and was chosen as one of the 100 best travel-related blogs in the world by Frommer’s Budget Travel magazine.

He is a member of the North American Travel Journalist Association. Over the last eleven years he has traveled on assignment to 82 countries, many several times. He is currently working on a book titled Be Our Guest covering the travails and treats of travel writing.
