Nature Runs Mid-Coast Maine

It is a rainy blustery day here in Mid-Coast Maine and that’s alright by me. Most of my traveling is fast moving and no long stays. Here I am anchored much like the boats that bob in the ocean… movement but limited. It feels great to be at a peaceful place and close to the rhythms of a lifestyle that is geared to the sea. Nature is the ruler here and all follow her moods. It will be nice to walk to Hendricks’s Head Lighthouse and work up an appetite. NE clam chowder is called for when the wind blows and the rain falls.

Bar Harbor Fog

It was a foggy morning here in Bar Harbor. The powerful engines of lobster boats out on the water could be heard but not seen. A steaming cup of coffee was a delight as I watched the fog swirl the coast. Today we head on back roads through Washington County and Down East Maine. At Calias we will cross the border to Canada and the town of St. Andrews.
