Hiking Minnewaska, the Boys are Home

A visit from my nephew Drew Gilligan is always a highlight to me, visiting from SF. It was great to be dragged around Lake Minnewaska with someone I love spending time with.Tonight my son Chance comes to visit, love to see the boys grow!

Travel Therapy, Karen Schaler and a Blurb

I had a chance to read a chapter from a new book coming out this spring by the unflappable Karen Schaler called Travel Therapy. As I would expect from Karen it was snappy and well worded. That made my task a bit harder, writing a blurb for the book, I wanted to do it justice. I met Karen on an adventure trip to Puerto Rico this past year and was thrilled that she came up with the idea over mojitos and a conversion we shared there. Karen obviously is a girl of action, being an embedded correspondent in Afghanistan is just one example. I have also got to say that I reread that chapter several times and am anxiously looking forward to some more therapy! At some point I plan to ask her for a blurb for a project I have in mind, no doubt it will be snappy and well worded.

The NY Times & GoNomad.com. a Winner

It was a thrill to read the NY Times Travel Section today and see the GoNomad logo in the Grey Lady about the upcoming Travel Show, Feb. 29-March 2. 2008. We are Media Partners for the first time this year. Max and I with help from Cindy, Lil, Sony, Paul, Joe and others have been in other shows in NYC but we have reached another level. For years Max and I would set up a booth and all of us would be talking in scratched throats after packing up our booth to head home, a wave to Cindy and Max as his packed car left the auditorium was a tradition for Lil and I.

Better yet is reading some great articles about Columbia, Morocco, Puerto Rico and Portugal, all of which we have covered over the past year. Awhile back we were named as a site to see by the NY Times, we still are.
