Dancing on Frank Gehry's Buildings

I’ve done the Frank Gehry shuffle underneath his buildings in Düsseldorf after a great meal but that has just recently been over shadowed by dancers performing on the outside of the massive theater designed by Gehry at Bard College. The mix of spider climbing and ballet was recently done this fall and choreographed by Neomie Lafrance, a 34 year old Canadian. The fact that Bard can afford a Gehry building says a lot about alumni bucks, however the place has done wonders for great events right down the road from me. The dance is done with the help of cables and pulleys. After jumping off the Macau Tower and rappelling cliffs in Puerto Rico perhaps I could join the troop, extra strength cables for me though.

Bard College, Weed and Eat, Princeton Review

I took a ride across the Hudson River today to visit Bard College, beautiful campus. While driving around I came across the Community Garden, all are encouraged to work in it, to plant, water and partake in its growth. All are allowed to pick and make use of the vegetables that are grown. The project started in 1997 and has grown steadily since. Food is also sent to food kitchens in Kingston. On Wednesday evenings there are potluck Weed & Eat parties, people gather to work and eat together. I had to laugh a bit on that news since Bard recently came out first for toking in the Princeton Review, herbal smokables of a medicinal nature. The gardens were a pleasure to behold and I commend Paul Marienthal for his dedication to a fantastic undertaking.
