Jumpers Wheel Restaurant – Probably Gibraltar’s most popular seafood restaurant. Located atop North Jumpers Bastion in Gibraltar’s South District, this restaurant is extremely popular with hard-to-please local diners. The food is top-notch encompassing both meat and seafood dishes on a raciones basis. Best to book in advance, particularly during the summer months.

El Capote – Charming tapas bar, very much in the style of the typical Andalucian eateries which are so common on the Spanish side of the border. In addition to many typical regional dishes, it is also a great place to sample cold cuts of Iberian meats and cheeses. Order by the portion, or merely individual tapas and accompany with a fino or a glass of Rioja wine.

Gilbert’s – Set into the West Place of Arms, near the public market, Gilbert’s is as close to a Gibraltar Institution as you will find. This ‘takeaway’ is only open in the evenings where Gilbert himself serves up arguably the best fast food on the Rock. The Steak Roll is the most popular item on the menu, enjoyed either with a fried egg or just ali oli (garlic sauce) or mojo picón (spicy sauce).
