There are now two new “luxury eco-lodge” tree houses available for reservation at Fair Oak Farm in East Sussex. Made with sustainable timber and fully insulated, these suites include a queen size double bed, bathroom, wardrobe, seating and dining spaces, fully equipped kitchen and sheltered balcony.

Each tree house sleeps two people and includes four star amenities available to guests. Facilities include a flat screen LED digital TV with integral DVD, fresh white linen and towels, wireless broadband and a DVD library. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, fridge with freezer, electric hob, oven with grill and microwave oven.

The lodges have been built with sustainable materials and over 500 trees have been planted in order to help forest wildlife. Owl nests and other bird boxes have been placed in the area to help out the natural environment.

“Our tree houses are an hour from London yet located in some of the finest Sussex countryside . . . They are the ultimate hotel room but in the trees on a country estate with stunning uninterrupted valley views to wake up to,” said Ian Ledger, owner and manager of Fair Oak Farm .

“[The tree houses] took two years to plan and six months to build. They were built almost single handed[ly] by a local carpenter who I worked very closely with during the build, according to Ledger.

“The number of enquiries we are receiving this year is more than ever and we are fast becoming booked up for the [new] year,” said Ledger.

Prices for eco lodge accommodations range from £150- £427 or $233-$664, depending on the length of stay and time of year. Reservations can be made online or by phone at (+44) 0-1435-884122.

If the high luxury tree houses are not authentic enough, this tree house has that genuine feel. The house is built in concordance with a large chestnut tree, as the tree itself is present inside the house. A sizable staircase leads guests to their lofty oasis.

A double bed is set between two trees overlooking a beautiful tree top landscape. There is an in-suite shower with a glass roof to keep guests in touch with the nature outside. The sink top and shelf in the bathroom are made from a tree, providing that rustic feel. A large balcony includes swing seats for a relaxing spot.

Rooms include beds with fine cotton sheets, tea and coffee making amenities, tv and a hairdryer. The bathrooms included soft fluffy towels and handmade soap.

The house overlooks a swamp for a genuine, outdoorsy feel. However, during severe weather conditions the tree house is closed, and alternate accommodations can be made. To stay in the tree house for one night ranges from £150- £170 or $233-$264 and includes breakfast. Reservations can be made online or by phone at 01798-865001.
