There is nothing more freeing than gliding over the open ocean! GoNOMAD has sailing stories from a the frigid coast of Antarctica to the azure waters of the Carribean!

Here are some sample stories:

Set Sail on a Tall Ship from New Zealand to Easter Island

Tall ship sailing is the ideal synthesis of seaborne adventure, exotic exploration and timeless romance. On the Søren Larsen your active participation adds to the authenticity of the experience. There's a professional crew of 11, but you're invited to join in and take a turn at the helm or (if you feel up to it) climb the rigging to set the topsails and standing watch.

The brigantine Søren Larsen - former star of the Onedin Line BBC TV series - is one of the world’s most distinguished ocean going square riggers and offers you the chance to experience blue water ocean sailing or island cruising. She was built in Denmark in 1949 and worked as a cargo ship in the Baltic until 1972. Now her voyages are all for pleasure.

A Windjammer Tour of Maine's Craggy Coast

I wanted to get away. Really away. Having just graduated from college, I was ready to relax and relish the free time that spread out before me. So I grabbed my boyfriend Ty and we started driving north.

Our destination was Rockland, Maine, the docking place of the windjammer Nathaniel Bowditch. This being my first summertime visit to Maine, I wanted to experience the state’s craggy coast the way it was meant to be seen — from the water.

Part of History

The most authentic way I could find to achieve this goal was a trip on the Nathaniel Bowditch, one of Maine’s beautiful windjammers. At 82 feet long, the ship is an impressive sight, and we were lucky enough to call her home for six memorable nights.
